Mr. Weldon Eugene Branton

Mr. Weldon Eugene Branton, age 82, of Aragon, GA, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 13, 2022, at his residence.

Mr. Branton was born in White, GA, on December 26, 1939, son of the late Carroll Branton and Miriam Byers Branton. He moved to Aragon in 2005 from Marietta, GA, where had lived since 1960. Mr. Branton was a veteran of the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith. He had worked for over 40 years with Dr. Paul Cuthbertson. Mr. Branton loved shooting guns, playing his guitar, adored his family and would give the shirt off his back to help someone.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Branton was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters and a step-son, Joseph Myrick.

Mr. Branton is survived by his loving wife, Tannis Evans Branton, whom he married June 23, 2019; three children, Joy Renee (Rocky) Campbell of Dallas, GA, Stacy Lynn Kinsey of Acworth, GA, and Stanley Eugene Branton of Calhoun, GA; step-daughter, Angela Evans Pate of Andalusia, AL. Eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Branton will be Saturday afternoon, September 17, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Drew Brown and Rev. Brent Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery with the honor guard from Brown-Wright Post 12 of the American Legion conferring military honors.

Mr. Branton’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Pallbearers will include Allen Kinsey, Dakota Kinsey, Rocky Campbell, Shermon Nelson and Daniel Campbell.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home to assist the family in funeral expenses.
