William “Danny” Kay

Mr. William Daniel “Danny” Kay, age 77, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Monday morning, May 4, 2026.

Danny was born in Rome, Georgia, on May 31, 1948, son of the late William Steward Kay and Emmie Louise Ingram Kay.

He lived his entire life in Polk County and retired from the City of Rockmart after many years of service. Danny was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, and he enjoyed collecting artifacts of all kinds. He was a kind and gentle person who deeply cared for his family.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Kay.

Danny is survived by his sisters, Linda Carlton Beatty and Jean Carlton Womack; brothers, Bobby Carlton and Jeffrey Carlton; nephew, Mike Kay; niece, Jennifer Prater; great-niece, Kristin Reeves; great-nephew, Andrew Wilmot.

Funeral services for Danny will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Michael S. Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Danny’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Pallbearers will include Joshua Laughlin, Tucker Laughlin, Tristan Prater, Mikey Kay and Andrew Wilmot.
