Mr. William Doyle Spann

Mr. William Doyle Spann, age 97 of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. He was born on September 6, 1926 in Polk County. He was the son of the late William Doyle Spann, Sr. and Gertrude Williamson Spann.

Mr. Spann was the oldest living member of Southside Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher, chairman of the Deacons, and so many other organizations.

Mr. Spann is survived by his daughter, Connie Spann Mullen (Jerry); sons, Ronnie Spann (Karen) and Phillip Spann (Patsy); grandchildren, Darla Fox (Dan), Jason Spann, Joshua Mullen (Danielle), Stacey Perry (Dustin), Christopher Chandler, Chad Chandler, and Amber Spann; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Spann is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janie Carter Spann; and brother, Harold Spann.

The funeral service for Mr. Spann will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at two o’clock in the afternoon from the chapel of Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Rodger Whorton and Rev. Joel A. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Pilgram officiating.

The family of Mr. Spann will receive family and friends on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from twelve o’clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jason Spann, Brody Spann, Joshua Mullen, Christopher Chandler, Dustin Perry, and Dylan Fox. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff at Cedar Valley Nursing Home.

Mr. Jack Howard Davis

Mr. Jack Howard Davis, age 86, of Douglasville, GA, passed away Friday morning, January 16, 2026, at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Davis will be held on Wednesday afternoon, January 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. His son, Michael Davis will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery.

Mr. Davis’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
