A blood drive is being held later this month in conjunction with Blood Assurance to honor Polk County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Barry Henderson.

Polk County Police Department’s Officer Andy Anderson is helping to organize the drive, the latest of many that he’s helped put together in the past several years.

The drive is being held on March 23, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in conjunction with Blood Assurance. Those who want to participate can make an appointment ahead of time at bloodassurance.org or by calling 1-800-962-0628.

Participants will be gathering at the PCPD headquarters at 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Drive, Cedartown.

Make sure to save time ahead of donating blood by answering a series of health history questions before arriving. Download the BA QuickScreen app on your mobile device to fill out the questionnaire.

Donors will receive a t-shirt for their participation, and anyone who gives twice this year is entered to win a side-by-side all terrain vehicle.

Please remember to eat a good meal, drink additional water and avoid energy drinks before giving.
