A Cedartown Firefighter remains under administrative leave for the time being and the Polk County Police are acting as an investigative agency into an altercation that occurred in past weeks at an area golf club.
Cedartown City Manager Edward Guzman confirmed that Lt. Jeremy Manning is on administrative leave pending the completion of the investigation being conducted by County Police into what happened at Meadow Lakes Golf Course in Cedartown on Jan. 30 when he is alleged to have gotten into an altercation with an individual.
County Police Chief Kenny Dodd confirmed the investigation is underway, and said that no charges have yet been filed against any individual.
Dodd said he expects the investigation to be concluded as quickly as possible.
He initially called in aid from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, but Dodd sought the inquiry to be turned back over to the Polk County Police to complete in a timely fashion.
