The Cedartown Police report a man was killed this afternoon in a shooting incident on Lavista Avenue, and that one person is in custody according to a release.

Here’s the whole of the story so far in the release:

A Friday afternoon shooting at 201 LaVista Avenue has left one individual dead. 

Cedartown Police report that Kevin Quillian, 40, was killed by a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the shooting death but say there is no threat to public safety.

The shooter has been identified and is cooperating with law enforcement.

Lavista Avenue is located on the east side of North Main Street in the neighborhood adjacent from Smith and Miller Funeral Home and the Econolodge in Cedartown.
