Want to help ensure that Rockmart is one of the cleanest places to live in Northwest Georgia? There’s not just the River’s Alive cleanup coming this weekend to get out and pick up the trash.
The City of Rockmart is calling for the help of local volunteers on Saturday, October 10 for the community cleanup starting at 8:30 a.m.
“Everyone’s welcome to lend a helping hand, and students who take part can receive community service hours,” the city announced in their Facebook post on the upcoming event.
The city will be providing bags and gloves at the event, as well as refreshments for those who participate.
Please gather at the green space on Wingfoot Street and Second Avenue for those who want to take part.
“The benefits of volunteering include increased neighborhood pride, higher property values, reduced instances of illegal dumping, and lower crime rates,” the city’s post added.
Volunteers will need to sign a waiver to participate and practice social distancing guidelines during the event.
