Note: the following release was sent in by the Polk County Christian Coalition to supplement Thursday’s posting about the forthcoming Sanctity of Life March on Jan. 29. – KtE
The Polk County Christian Coalition is hosting its 23rd annual Sanctity of Life March and Memorial in downtown Cedartown on Saturday, January 29, 2022. The silent march will begin at the parking lot adjacent to Polk County Farm Bureau on Main Street.
The march will proceed along the sidewalk to the park in front of Polk County Courthouse No. 2. Pro-life signs are welcome to be carried along the march route. The march will start at 11:45 am. At noon, the formal program will include prayers, song and a report from our local crisis pregnancy center.
This event will be held regardless of weather conditions. The event is staged outdoors and attendants are encouraged to dress warmly and comfortably. Church groups are especially encouraged to attend.
Facial covering and social distancing will not be required but those at risk should protect themselves appropriately. All required permits have been secured. The event will be conducted in compliance with all legal requirements.
This is the 23rd year this observance has been held in downtown Cedartown. It is held each year close to the date of the US Supreme Court decision in 1973 which legalized abortion in all 50 states. A Facebook event page has been created for breaking news and announcements.
