
Ms. Ann Edge “Annie” McCarson Davidson, age 88 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
She was born on August 4, 1936 in Floyd County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late John Ralph McCarson, Sr. and Mozelle Edge McCarson.
Ms. Davidson is survived by her daughter, Blaine Davidson Booth-Clibborn; son, Jim Davidson; sisters, Barbara McCarson Evers and Patti McCarson Barrett; nieces and nephews, Melissa Evers Corwin, Steve Evers, Carolyn Evers York, Beth Evers Rose, Leigh Ann McCarson Adams, Dea McCarson Chandler, Rae McCarson, Carolyn McCarson Byrd, Mishelle McCarson, and Risa Barrett Priestly; and other extended family members.
Ms. Davidson is preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Ralph McCarson, Jr.; niece, Shannon McCarson; and nephews, John Ralph McCarson, III and Bill Barrett.
Ms. Davidson was recently honored for her excellence. She coached every sport and East Rome High School, from basketball to tennis. While she loved to coach, her passion for the game of golf reigned superior to all the rest.
She coached golf at many different levels, from high school to college. Ms. Davidson played professional golf on the LPGA circuit as well.
An inductee to the National Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame, Ann Davidson guided the Methodist University Monarch golf team to five consecutive National Championships during her five season as head coach from 1990-1995. She produced 17 All-Americans and four National Champions. After retiring from Methodist in 1995, she served the golf industry at camps and tournaments as an LPGA teaching professional.
In keeping with Ms. Davidson’s wishes’ she was cremated. A graveside service for Annie will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at eleven o’clock in the morning in the family lot of Greenwood Cemetery with Dr. David Taylor officiating.
The famiy of Ms. Davidson will receive family and friends immediately following the graveside service from 12:00pm- 2:00pm at Cherokee Country Club, 150 Club Drive, Cedartown, GA 30125.
