Police are working with state law enforcement to determine who was found inside of a toolbox on Esom Hill Road in western Polk County this morning.

Thus far, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has not released many details as they seek to identify the remains.

Thus far per authorities, all is known so far is the body was discovered on Esom Hill Road around 9:40 a.m. by Public Works employees, who were conducting roadway work in the area.

Per what has been reported to Polk Today thus far, the body was found wrapped inside of a truck toolbox.

Here’s the only details released so far by the GBI:

On Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at around 9:40 a.m., the GBI’s Regional Investigative Office in Calhoun was requested by the Polk County Police Department to assist with a death investigation.

An unidentified body was located in a rural area of Polk County.

The body was transported to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
