Burger King construction wrapping up

The opening of the new Burger King in Rockmart is still a few weeks away, and may be coming sooner than expected if all works out well for contractors.

A few more items are still being worked out, but hopefully the restaurant will be able to open its doors in mid-December.

Tom Davis, from GPS Hospitality, said they are expecting to open their doors well before Christmas if there are no complications with further construction that needs to be completed. Power is now on at the restaurant, but additional utilities still need to be completed as construction work wraps up the the BK storefront.

An official opening date for the new restaurant will be announced in the coming days.

Davis added that the style of the new restaurant is meant to have a family-oriented layout within. This design for the Burger King franchise storefront came out several years prior, and features an exterior look that includes stone and smooth stucco.

Burger King takes up the spot where Pizza Hut once stood for many years in Rockmart along the Nathan Dean Bypass. The new Pizza Hut location moved to a spot closer to Ingles along North Piedmont Avenue behind Waffle House when construction wrapped up over the summer months and opened at the end of July.

Those who can’t wait to have it their way and need to cure a craving right now can go to the one in Cedartown, or in surrounding locations in Dallas, Hiram, several locations around Cartersville and Rome, and down toward Temple and Villa Rica.

Burger King joins a corner dominated by restaurants. Next door is McDonalds and Waffle House, the new Pizza Hut, plus a Marco’s Pizza and Little Caesar’s directly across the street. The Taco Bell-KFC combo is within sight, as well as several other chains running along the bypass.
