Cedar Valley Arts Festival returns to Peek Park for 60th year

Peek Park is playing host this weekend to an annual event that helps raise funds for local causes and bring the community together for family-friendly fun.

The Cedar Valley Arts Festival is back for their 60th year, bringing a variety of entertainment and fun for Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27, along with dozens of vendors, food trucks and much more.

Cedartown Junior Service league members have been busy at work throughout the year to get ready for the spring celebration, which also plays host to showcasing artwork from youth across the Polk School District, and the Cedartown Polk County Humane Society Dog Show on Sunday afternoon.

The fun kicks off on Saturday morning with the annual Arts Festival 5K/10K Road Race – a certified one at that – with runners taking their mark and racing at 8 a.m.

Following that, festival hours begin at 10 a.m. and continue Saturday until 6 p.m.

The car show will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sunday’s dog show begins at 2 p.m., in the middle of the festival’s final day running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Entrance into the festival is free. Dogs are welcome to the event – especially on Sunday for the dog show.

The Cedartown Junior Service League organizes the annual event and hosts it at Peek Park. It is one of their main fundraisers annually, and money raised from vendor fees and sales of hanging baskets during the festival go toward helping community organizations.

Shuttles are available for parking at the Polk County Courthouse down the street – limited parking is available on North College Street.
