It wasn’t too long ago that Mavis Tire & Brakes in Cedartown was a mound of dirt waiting to be sculpted into a new business. Months later, a new shop is open in Cedartown.

A weekend delivery of tires marked the completion of work and moving on from construction to open for business as Mavis Tire, which was operating on Tuesday.

Hours are seven days a week, with a Monday through Saturday schedule of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and a Sunday schedule of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Their phone number for those searching is 470-999-5303.

Mavis’s website has the Cedartown location available for service appointment scheduling as well to provide a variety of services beyond tire sales and installation. For directions purposes, enter 1590 Rome Highway, Cedartown, GA 30125 into a maps app of choice to find the best way there.

Note that entry access to Mavis Tire is one-way heading northbound on Highway 27 North, and utilizing the traffic light and roadway around the back will be easier for drivers to get in and out.

Cedartown’s newest location supplements a growing chain of automotive service locations across the country. Mavis in the Northwest Georgia area alone has shops in Rome, Douglasville, Hiram, Acworth and others in the Metro Atlanta area.

This $1.8 million storefront is their first location in Polk County, and only their second in the immediate area.

Mavis Tire & Brakes began construction on the Cedartown location back in the spring, and made their announcement official they were coming to Polk in June.

They join a crowded marketplace around the Walmart/Home Depot anchored shopping complexes that includes a number of restaurants and retail outlets.

Other lots are already posted for sale around the Highway 27 Bypass/North Main Street corner, but no immediate announcements have been made.
