The 2021 Rockmart Christmas Parade is coming up on Thursday evening, to be capped off by the lighting of the tree downtown in the square on South Marble Street.
Santa and all his local helpers – from churches to non-profits, as well as clubs and businesses – will be on-hand for the annual celebration of the holidays in downtown Rockmart, starting at 6 p.m. for the “Celebration of Christmas”-themed parade.
As the parade comes to a close, Santa will be giving the signal to light the Christmas tree in downtown Rockmart.
Parade watchers will want to find seats along the normal parade route that goes from the staging area at City Hall on Piedmont Avenue and winds its way down to South Marble Street and comes to an end in front of the Rockmart History Museum and the Christmas Tree.
Both the Cedartown and Rockmart High School bands are performing in this year’s parade.
Additionally, businesses downtown plan to be open later on Thursday for the parade.
Organizers suggest heading downtown early to grab a good spot!
Check back for coverage on Friday from the annual parade.
