CHS take over Main Street for annual Homecoming Parade

Cedartown High School dressed up and had fun on Thursday afternoon as they took over Main Street for the annual Homecoming Parade.

This year’s Grand Marshals Chubb and CHS Teacher of the Year Sonya Triplett acted as grand marshals for the parade that saw Homecoming Court members, the football team, the band, youth football and cheer squads, schools and club take part.

Bulldogs fans lined up and down Main Street from the starting point on South Main near Central Street all the way up past Polk County Courthouse No. 2 to show support for the court, but also the undefeated Cedartown team that remains the top-ranked team in the state.

Cedartown hosts the Southeast Whitfield Raiders for tonight’s Homecoming game. The region matchup is also the last home game of the regular season for the Bulldogs.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Tune into the WGAA Pregame Show to hear your’s truly, WGAA’s Andrew Carter, Sam Branch and Chris McKelvey talk last week’s game, this week’s game and more.

Editor’s note: Usually there would be a greater amount of coverage for the Homecoming Parade, but this year I got skunked. The SD card I had all the photos and footage on decided to die while I was beginning to transfer files over to the computer last night. What can one do about that? Happy Homecoming! – KtE
