An extra $1 and change will be showing up on customers bills who receive water, sewer and trash service when they receive them in the mail for the upcoming cycle.

The City of Cedartown announced in a brief release that bills that have already been mailed this month include a $1.05 increase for trash service from GFL Environmental.

The five percent increase for trash service being billed to customers begins with the current billing cycle. Operational increases required the total amount for trash service to go up this year. Water and sewer rates have also recently adjusted as operational costs also went up.
