Folks looking for an option to have it their way will soon get what they want when the new Burger King along Chattahoochee Drive in Rockmart wraps up before year’s end.

At least with the pace the construction is going since August, its likely to be up and running before winter arrives in earnest.

Polk Today reached out to Tom Davis who oversees the Rockmart locations and he noted that the new restaurant should be opened no later than the end of the year, with everything wrapped up and ready to serve customers following the Thanksgiving holiday with the hopes there are no construction delays.

The new Burger King location replaces the former Pizza Hut that was once on the spot but moved to a new building less than 100 yards away in the same complex, bringing the total number of restaurants in the small cluster to four on the eastbound side of Nathan Dean Parkway.

GPS Hospitality operates both the Pizza Hut and the forthcoming Burger King in Rockmart.

Their nationwide portfolio of restaurants including Popeye’s Chicken locations, and Burger King locations as well – including several in Rome, Calhoun, Summerville, Cartersville, Villa Rica and the metro Atlanta area.

This Burger King location follows the pattern of many fast food chains over the past several years downsizing their footprint and focusing more on drive thru service and to go ordering than dining in. Pizza Hut for instance downsized to a much smaller location with their move to a new section around the Nathan Dean Parkway/Piedmont Avenue corner.

Along with the pizza chain and forthcoming burger franchise, McDonalds and Waffle House are also within a stone’s throw of the new restaurant location.
