Courthouse work continues even during July 4th holiday

Workers were out this morning with paintbrushes in hand and continuing to make updates and improvements to Polk County Courthouse No. 2, an ongoing project on the historic building in downtown Cedartown.

New coats of paint have been going on windows for the past weeks, as well as trim and now the front of the building, which serves as one of two courthouse buildings serving Polk County. Improvements and repairs to the courthouse in the past year have included but not limited to interior painting, roofing, and gutter work.

Commissioners are set this week to approve a cost of no more than $28,300 for a work order for Place Services, Inc., to complete work on the courthouse during their July 7 regular session.
