CPD: Three jailed on drug charges after meth found during traffic stop

A trio spotted leaving a known drug house ended up in jail after all were found with drugs or paraphernalia by Cedartown Police on Monday afternoon, per reports.

Per the Cedartown Police they arrested Douglas Fray, Brandi Guice and Amber Jones after stopped by an officer after he watched as they left a house known for the sale of drugs during the afternoon of January 16. As they pulled out onto Canal Street, the officer began to run the tag through state databases. They made it as far as Canal Circle before they were stopped for no insurance on the vehicle.

Jones, who was driving at the time, told police she believed the Jeep was covered since her boyfriend owned the vehicle. Police tried to contact the insurance Company but had no luck due to the MLK holiday. The officer also called for a K-9 officer to join and give the Jeep a sniff for drugs.

Unfortunately for the trio, K-9 Nero’s nose had no problem detecting something was in the Jeep. Police found methamphetamine in a bag in the center console, a glass pipe in the rear seat, and other paraphernalia.

Police took all three into custody, and found unused syringes on Jones. Amid a search at the jail, Guice admitted to having items in her pants as well. Those included another glass pipe, another bag of suspected meth and a bag suspected to be marijuana.

Grice told jail staff that Bray gave her the pipe and the two bags during the stop. She faced additional charges for crossing the guard line with those items.

Additionally, the officer who made the stop found a cup on his patrol vehicle the suspects had taken out at the time of the search. The officer found several bags believed to have contained drugs which were dumped into the drink in an effort destroy evidence.

The trio remained in the Polk County Jail as of this posting.




Jones was being held on a $7,500 bond on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine, along with misdemeanor charges of possession and use of drug-related objects, tampering with evidence and no insurance.

Guice was charged with felonies for possession of methamphetamine and crossing the state/county guard line with weapons, intoxicants, drugs without consent , and tampering with evidence along with misdemeanors for possession of marijuana and possession and use of drug-related objects. She’s being held on a $13,000 bond.

Bray’s bond was denied and his charges were a felony for possession of methamphetamine, as well as misdemeanors for tampering with evidence and possession and use of drug-related objects.
