DTF makes second arrest following Spruce Street search

A second individual was taken into custody and later released on bond after being arrested by the Drug Task Force on charges in connection with the search of a Spruce Street house this month, according to a release from the agency.

The Drug Task Force arrested Stephanie Bahena Salgado, 28, of the same Spruce Street address that was raided on April 6, on multiple felony drug and other charges including trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, felony possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule one drug, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and cruelty to children first degree.

She was later released on Saturday on a $50,000 bond.

Salgado’s arrest came after the search on April 6 and the seizure of a quarter pound of cocaine, six pounds of marijuana, THC Wax and a loaded handgun.

During the search, police arrested Froylan Cervantes and charged him similarly.

He was later released on a $57,000 bond.

CEDARTOWN – A Cedartown woman has now been arrested after a search warrant was conducted earlier this month by the Polk County Drug Task Force.

On Thursday, April 6, 2023, agents with the Polk County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 302 Spruce Street in Cedartown. Cedartown resident Froylan Cervantes was arrested as a result of the initial search, and DTF agents have now released information regarding a second arrest.

Stephanie Salgado, of Cedartown, was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, felony possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule one drug, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and cruelty to children first degree.

This search warrant led to the seizure of approximately one quarter pound of cocaine, approximately six pounds of marijuana, schedule I THC wax, and a loaded handgun.  

Froylan Cervantes was previously arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, felony possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule one drug, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and cruelty to children first degree. 

The Polk County Drug Task Force would like to thank the Cedartown Police Department Patrol, K-9, and Criminal Investigation Divisions as well as the Polk County Police Department Criminal Investigation Division for assisting in this search warrant. 

This case will be prosecuted by the Tallapoosa Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
