During the search, officers reported that they turned up a quarter pound of cocaine, six pounds of marijuana, THC wax (listed as a Schedule I drug) and a loaded handgun.

The statement from the Task Force noted that “additional arrests are expected.”

UPDATE: Per police officials, the origin of the cruelty to children charge came about due to the proximity of the drugs to minors at the residence and the danger they posed to the welfare of the children.

Per jail records, Cervantes was released on a $57,000 bond the following day.
