The race to determine who will be in the County Commission District 2 seat for Polk County wraps up tonight as the 2020 Election continues.
A few hundred voters have turned out between the seven precincts as of 4 p.m. for the race between the incumbent in the seat, Linda Liles, and challenger Ricky Clark. The pair had the most votes out of the November 3 election and headed to today’s run-off out of five candidates in the race overall.
The 4 p.m. update 34 votes cast at Blooming Grove, 45 at Lake Creek, 60 at Youngs Grove, 32 at Aragon, 99 at Cedartown, 73 in Rockmart and 50 at Fish Creek.
Anyone registered to vote can participate in the run-off, and have until 7 p.m. to cast a ballot. So far, no lines have been reported at any precinct today.
