Elections 2020: Hurricane Zeta caused polls to open an hour late, but back on track

Despite troubles this morning due to tropical weather moving through Northwest Georgia, poll workers were able to get both precincts open for early voting today.

Elections Coordinator Brande Coggins said polls opened an hour later at 10 a.m. this morning due to the issues caused by Hurricane Zeta and widespread power outages, but the polls will remain open tonight until 7 p.m. at both locations in Cedartown and Rockmart.

Note: Please consider taking part in this non-scientific poll on the 2020 election.

Tonight is the second and final night of extended hours heading into the final day of early voting on Friday. Voters can head to either the precinct in Cedartown at 144 West Ave., or in Rockmart at the Nathan Dean Community Center at 605 Goodyear Ave., to vote through the rest of the day and tomorrow.

Check back for more on numbers as they become available later this evening.
