UPDATE:
Polk County Fire Rescue brought out units from every station to battle a blaze on Booger Hollow Road in the Cedartown area on Friday night into Saturday morning for a residence that was a total loss.
Chief Michael Hanuscin reported that pumpers from each station were utilized to fight the residential fire on Friday night, and first units responded to the blaze within three minutes of the call coming in at 11:09 p.m.
More than 30 minutes later, units from across the county were on scene working to put out the house fire, and continued onward until 4 a.m. on Saturday when the department was able to finish operations on the incident. Hanuscin said 80,000 gallons of water were used to fight the fire.
Additionally, during the incident Polk County Public Works were called into help with the incident by bringing in a back hoe to help with access after a partial collapse of the structure while it was on fire.
Firefighters on scene were able to keep the flames from spreading to the auto body shop, Hanuscin said.
No injuries were reported by the Chief during the incident.
Hanuscin said the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and no immediate cause has been established.
Cedartown Fire and Rescue and Rockmart Fire and Rescue were able to cover areas of the county while firefighters from Polk County Fire Rescue were on scene, per the chief.

A house on Booger Hollow Road brought out multiple fire units to the scene as the structure was fully involved in flames tonight.
As of 11:45 p.m., multiple engines and pumper trucks with Polk County Fire Rescue and Cedartown Fire and Rescue was out on the scene battling the blaze near Anna Kresge Methodist Church at the intersection of Booger Hollow, Cherokee Road and Cave Spring Roads.
Officials did not yet have any further information at this late hour about the nature of the fire or other details to share.
Booger Hollow Road between Cherokee Road and Lewis Road will be closed for some time due to the volume of the first responders in the area.
