The newest citizen of Polk County can claim an immediate first in his young life.

Dylan Perez – all 20 inches tall and 7 pounds and one ounce – was the first child delivered into the world at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center in Rome for 2025.

He was delivered to parents Sandra and Benjamin Perez of Cedartown on January 1, 2025 at 4:24 a.m.

The hospital offered their congratulations to the Perez family including new big sister Teresa, who is two years old.
