A brief update on another Dollar General project in Polk County: look for a store on Piedmont Highway to open later this spring.

Construction continues as the walls are up and interior work set to begin soon for the latest location for the national chain that is popular in suburbs and rural areas, like the future store at the intersection of Cornelius Road and Piedmont Highway.

Work began on the project earlier this year after ground was broken on the corner lot in late January.

This will mark the 8th store in Polk County after work is completed. The Cedartown area alone will now have five stores from Lindsey Chapel Road to the Alabama state line in locations that range from North Main Street to Highway 27 South.

The location to come on West Avenue will replace the South College Street store when the project is completed.
