Saturday evening promises to provide a cultural event for the summer in Rockmart as the RCAC hosts their Juried Art Show gala at the Rockmart Art Gallery.

The gala is set to run from 4 to 7 p.m. and honor those who participated in this year’s show. Awards are being given to first, second and third place winners in each category artists submitted in this year, and a Best of Show and People’s Choice ribbon is also being given for the 2020 show.

The artist included in the show are Hunter Albea, Kiki Alexander, Peri Alpin, Elda Arias, Mary Lou Bailey-Funk, Cynthia Barrow, Gary Baughman, Carol Bolgrin, Kathleen Borchelt, Carsen Bottoms, Mary Cash, Darby Chism, Peggy Cline, Judy Cooper, Paul Craighead, James Dingler, Pat Gore, Wendy Herubin, James Hill, Pat Houser, Heidi Hunt, Anita Kennerley, Donna Leonard, Manami Lingerfelt, Ruth McRae, Laurenthia Mesh, Rhonda Mihalik, Merari Morales, Karla Ramos, Rose-Marie Scheel-Young, Joey Seale, Lee Simpkins, Stella, Spyrou, Mike Strickland, Kathy Torres, Carol Violanda, Debra Wade-Eulau and Susan Waters.

Those who can’t make it to Saturday’s reception and awards ceremony can still check out the show before it closes out on August 6.

The Rockmart Art Gallery is open on Tuesdays from 1 to 7 p.m., and Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The next show coming up is titled “Angels Among Us” art exhibit, and there is an open call for submissions underway that are due by October 3 for the show starting on October 22 and running through Christmas Eve. A reception is planned in November for the upcoming holiday season exhibit.
