The courthouse parking lot played host to the 2024 Holloway Hunny Pot Festival over the weekend after city officials were concerned that Big Spring Park would be too wet for the fun planned for Saturday’s event.

Yet Hurricane Helene didn’t stop vendors from coming out and families of all ages from enjoying the event in downtown Cedartown.

Dozens of vendors came out to participate in the event moved from the park with a fear it would otherwise be underwater ahead of the impact of the storm.

The event is a celebration of Cedartown’s own Sterling Holloway, his many roles in film but particularly one close to the hearts of children of all ages: Winnie the Pooh.

Among the attractions annually is a display of memorabilia put together by Donnie Jarrell celebrating Holloway’s life and career.
