2024 Ham and Egg Day has come and gone as the Cedartown Optimist Club continued the tradition of their annual fundraiser breakfast.
Members were busy on Saturday morning serving up breakfast plates and coffee, juice, soda and much more for customers who bought tickets to help raise money for a variety of local organizations.

Every year, the club raises at least $5,000 to help local organizations with more than 20 youth-based projects that are in need of the assistance, including the CHS Junior Optimist Club and scholarships for members graduating at the end of the year, the Summer Reading program at the Cedartown Library, CHINS (Children in Need of Services,) FERST Readers of Polk County, Graduate Polk, the Jonah Bag Backpack program and Youth Summerfest, Murphy Harpst Childrens Center, Polk County 4H and the Livestock Organization, and the Optimist Essay Contest.
The Cedartown Optimist Club was chartered on December 4, 1958 and has provided continuous service to our local youth for more than six decades. The Cedartown Optimist Club embodies the motto of Optimist International, “Friend of Youth”, with all local club activities focusing on developing the potential and recognizing the accomplishment of the youth in our community.
This year, the club had help from Junior Optimist Club members from local schools in serving up breakfast for the 2024 event held on Saturday, May 4.
