An Aragon man was arrested on Tuesday evening and remains in custody without bond set after he was arrested on a charge brought by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Gary Charles Davenport, 62, of an Aragon address, was booked into the Polk County Jail just after 10 p.m. on Tuesday after agents from the GBI took out a single felony charge of aggravated sexual battery.

Polk Today sought more information from the GBI about the arrest, and officials reported that his arrest came about following a sexual assault complaint made earlier this year.

The GBI were asked to get involved by the Aragon Police Department in early April, per the agency’s statement about the matter.
