
Mrs. Glenda Faye Johnson Mattox, age 80 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
She was born on February 5, 1944 in Rome, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late E.D. and Elizabeth Johnson.
Mrs. Mattox was of the Baptist Faith.
Mrs. Mattox is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Kenneth Wayne Mattox; daughters, April Sosebee; Missy Rooks (Bryan), and Lara George; sons, Tim Sosebee (Rhonda) and Bruce Wayne Mattox; brother, Rufus Johnson (Vicki); grandchildren, Cody Sosebee, Jamie Schlief; Trace Barron, Ethan George, Elizabeth George, Zachary Mattox, and Drew Mattox; great-grandchildren, Laurel Schlief, Abel Schlief, Cooper Mattox, and Carsyn Claire Mattox; and several other extended family members.
Mrs. Mattox is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Del “June Bug” George, Jr.
The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Mattox will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at two o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Mr. Frank Burgess officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery and Mr. CJ Norris officiating.
The family of Mrs. Mattox will receive family and friends on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from twelve o’clock in the afternoon until funeral hour at Gammage Funeral Home.
The family has respectfully requested that floral arrangements are to be omitted and memorial donations can be made to the Cedar Valley Shrinettes, P.O. Box 183, Cedartown, GA 30125.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: CJ Norris, Breck Tillery, Brandon Wells, Cody Sosebee, Ethan George, and Andrew McCombs. Honorary pallbearer will be David Knight.
