Main Street in Cedartown and Rockmart will be bustling with local youth and their families who are hoping to fill their sacks and buckets with sweets for Trick-or-Treating events.

Additionally, a Trunk-or-Treat hosted by Polk County Police and others at the Fairgrounds is ahead as well.

Here’s a rundown of what’s happening with upcoming celebrations:

Halloween events begin on Thursday in Cedartown as Main Street businesses and organizations take over sidewalks in downtown, and includes a forthcoming FHF Hair Design-hosted Costume Contest.

Trick-or-Treating begins at 4 p.m. and runs through 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 31.

The Costume Contest at Holloway Park begins at 5:30 p.m.

Rockmart’s annual Festival of Treats around the downtown South Marble Street corridor is coming up on Thursday as well, running from 4 to 6 p.m.

Downtown merchants and organizations will be participating in Trick-or-Treating for local youth in the DDA-organized event.

South Marble from Elm Street to Slate Street will be closed for the event, and parking cuts off starting at 1 p.m. through 6:30 p.m.

Polk County Police are taking over the fairground with the help of local businesses on Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m. for the 2024 edition of their Trunk-or-Treat event.

Sanity Coffee Company, Sunshine Lemonade and Dragon Peanuts will be on hand as well providing families a chance for enjoying some refreshments (NOT FREE) during the Thursday evening event.

Look for PCPD to be joined by other law enforcement and public safety organizations for the annual event, and their vehicles to be decked out for the upcoming event.

Polk School District is also participating in the event.

Things will wind down at the Fairgrounds in Cedartown by 7:30 p.m.
