Widower of Det. Kristen Hearne and former Aragon PD Officer Matt Hearne denied bond on multiple charges

A former Buchanan Police officer was booked on Monday morning into the Polk County Jail where he remained with his bond denied on multiple charges after the Georgia Bureau of Investigation took out warrants for his arrest.
Matthew Christopher Hearne was taken into custody and went before a judge this morning who denied his bond on felony charges and misdemeanor charges.
Those included felonies for impersonating a public officer or employee, identity theft – fraud when using/possessing identifying info concerning a person, violation of oath by public officer and a misdemeanor for harassing communications.
The 39-year-old law enforcement veteran remains in the Polk County Jail as of this posting.
Buchanan Police Chief D.S. Ratner did not have any comment about the matter when contacted about Hearne.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has additionally been sought for more information but as of this hour had not yet provided more information.
Hearne was the husband of Polk County Police Detective Kristen Hearne, who was shot and killed in the line of duty six years ago. He also had previously served with the Aragon Police Department.
