Mrs. Jackie Watts

Mrs. Jackie Watts, age 86, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Mrs. Watts was born January 11, 1938, to the late Albie and Julia Grace Gilliam.

In her early years, she worked at Arrow Shirt Company in Cedartown. Later she also worked at Catherine’s Dress Shop and Moore’s Pharmacy. She was a very devoted member of Southside Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir.

Her deep-rooted steadfast faith helped guide her through many chapters of her life. She cherished her role within her church community, embodying the love and teachings of the Lord. Her life was doing for others.

Her proudest title was being a grandmother. Her family meant the world to her.

Along with her parents, also preceding is her husband, Roger B. Watts; son, Michael Roger Watts; brothers, Earl Gilliam, Lindy Gilliam, Harold Gilliam, and Edward (Buddy) Gilliam; sisters, Edna Bussey, Jean Sloman, and Freddie Chandler.

Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law Leah and Keith Redden; brother, Jerry Gilliam; grandchildren, Alec Redden (Ragen) and Alyse Redden. Many other nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will hold a visitation Friday, May 3, 2024, beginning at 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Litesey Funeral Home. The funeral will be held in the chapel of Litesey Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. with Jeff Pilgrim officiating. Interment will follow at the Polk Memory Gardens with Justin Carter officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Keith Redden, Alec Redden, Julius Rodillas, Shane Redden, Nick Redden, and Trey Redden. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Gilliam and Jason Watts.
