Mrs. Linda Shanks Summerville Broster, age 73, of Atlanta, GA, passed away Monday evening, July 8, 2024.

Linda was born in Cedartown, GA, on November 17, 1950, a daughter of the late William David “W.D.” Shanks and Janie Charlene Holland Shanks.

She had lived the greater part of her life in Atlanta and was a housewife and homemaker.

Linda was very crafty and loved to cook. She also had a love of music and was always a giver.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Broster, a daughter, Dawn Summerville, a son, Bryan Summerville, and a grandson, Dustin Barber.

Linda is survived by a son, Mika’EL YisraEL (EliYahna) of Lithia Springs, GA; a daughter, Jami Summerville Aaron (Jeff) of Canton, GA; granddaughters, Ashley Davis, Crystal (Casey) Childers; grandsons, Miguel Wimbley, Mika’EL YisraEL, Jr., and Zachary Barber; sisters, Kathy Williams and Wendy Evens; brothers, David (Joyce) Shanks, and Jimmy Shanks. Several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Linda will be held on Thursday afternoon, July 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.

Linda’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Thursday from 12;00 noon until the service hour.
