Man back behind bars after weekend firearms incident

Timothy Ray Waddell

Polk County Police had business once again with a man on Collard Valley Road, this time facing firearms and paraphernalia possession charges, according to reports.

Officers arrested Timothy Ray Waddell, 61, of a Collard Valley Road address after PCPD was called out to investigate a shot being fired in the area on Saturday, February 3 around 5:20 p.m.

A full report wasn’t available, but officers did note in the preliminary incident report that they were called out to Collard Valley Road after it was alleged Waddell fired a gun off into the air.

During the incident, Waddell was found with a pipe on his person, per the report.

Waddell was booked early Saturday evening into the Polk County Jail. He remained in custody on a $12,000 bond on a felony charge of possession of a firearm by convicted felon or first offender, and misdemeanor charges for possession and use of drug-related objects and reckless conduct.

He had just been released on January 24 after 10 days in jail on a Superior Court warrant with a bond set at the time of $25,000.

Last year, Waddell was booked into the jail by Polk County Police after he was involved in an incident near Collard Valley Road where he ran from police and dropped a bag of methamphetamine and fentanyl onto the ground during the foot chase. The drugs were later found by K-9 Officer Gena who had been utilized to track Waddell but unable to find him at the time.
