
A Cedartown man was booked after being charged with elder abuse and battery under the family violence act over the weekend, according to reports.
Gabriel Diamond, 42, of a Cedartown address, was booked into the Polk County Jail on Saturday, December 16 on the felony and misdemeanor charges. He remained in custody on a $4,000 bond as of Monday.
Per the Cedartown Police report, Diamond is accused of striking a victim over the age of 65 with a spray can in the head and side, and twisted their arm before leaving the residence.
The victim did get checked out by AdventHealth Redmond EMS but refused any treatment when the incident was reported on the morning of December 11.
