An Aragon man remained in jail following the holiday weekend after he was found with pills and methamphetamine in his vehicle and on his person during a run-in with officers that began as a report of a domestic altercation between a couple.
William Joseph Henson, 36, of 110 Waddell Circle, Aragon, remained in the Polk County Jail with no bond set on the felony and misdemeanor drug charges after police arrived when someone called into report an argument Henson was involved in that had potentially gotten physical at the Nathan Dean Sports Complex on Sunday, July 4 around 7:30 a.m.
Henson and the other individual involved told police they had been arguing, but no one had been struck.
During the incident, a Polk County Police officer who had also responded to the scene noticed a prescription pill sticker on the driver’s seat, and questioned Henson about the Suboxone label that was found. (This is a drug commonly used to treat opiate addictions.) When Henson couldn’t produce a prescription for the drug, police cuffed Henson and searched him further.
They discovered a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue in his back pocket, and in his front found a prescription bottle for Gabapentin prescribed to another person. He also claimed to officers he had a prescription for the drug, but one could not be produced.
A further search of his vehicle produced methamphetamine and another pipe.
Henson ultimately claimed all the items were his and he was charged with felonies for possession of methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of Dangerous Drugs and a misdemeanor for Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects.
