A new pizza place is now open in Rockmart and serving customers since just before the Christmas holidays.

Marco’s Pizza opened its doors on December 19 in Polk County, offering up a new option for pizza in the marketplace around Rockmart at the new location at 102 Sycamore Grove Court (behind Triangle Foods.)

Couples Keene and Cynthia Murphy and Jeff and Sandy Hall are the new owners of the pizza franchise, and it’s their ninth to open in the state alone. The couples also own several other businesses together in construction, real estate, childcare and of course Marco’s Pizza franchises.

Marco’s Pizza is new to Polk County, but not the rest of the nation and much of Georgia. The Toledo, Ohio-based chain has multiple locations throughout Georgia, and neighboring states in Alabama, Florida, the Carolinas and Tennessee.

The chain is mainly focused on pizza pies, but also has pizza bowls, subs, salads, wings, chicken tenders, and a variety of desserts available on the menu. Catering options are on the table too.

In Carroll County, there are locations in Temple, Sand Hill and Carrollton. Douglas County has one in Villa Rica, there are three in Paulding in the north and southern sections of the county and one in Hiram, and a location in West Rome in Floyd County as well.

Much of the concentration of Marco’s Pizza is around the metro Atlanta area, but locations are also found in Columbus, Savannah, Augusta, Athens, Macon, Valdosta, Albany and elsewhere around the state.

Nationally, the chain has more than 1,100 locations across 33 states. It was founded in Toledo in 1978 by Italian-born Pasquale (“Pat”) Giammarco.
