Mrs. Marie Bolton Faires, age 91, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023.

Mrs. Faires was born in Lindale, GA on January 12, 1932, a daughter of the late James Luther Bolton and Nola Roberts Bolton.

Marie had lived the greater part of her life in Cedartown where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Cedartown. Marie enjoyed playing cards with her friends, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She retired from Polk School District after many years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack, Doyle and Jerry Bolton; and sisters, Virginia Landers and Evelyn Green.

Marie is survived by her son, Chip Faires and his wife, Kelly of Cedartown; daughter, Amy Davenport and her husband, Jimmy of Cedartown; five grandchildren, JeanMarie Tibbitts (Zane), Whitney Sawyer (Evan), Duane Davenport, Kristen Thomas (Kody), and Josh Faires (Cheyenne); ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Mrs. Faires will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Dr. David Taylor officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1:00 pm until the service hour at the funeral home.
