Mavis Tire and Brakes has been under construction since late spring, and real progress has been made in past weeks as the brick structure continues to rise across from Walmart on Highway 27 North.

It started as big piles of dirt, then a foundation and finally the brick walls and now the garage doors are up at Mavis Tire and Brakes forthcoming location in Cedartown.

The build is expected to be completed this fall, and join a number of new openings on the western side of Polk County over the past months.

Included among the list of grand openings from national and regional brands in the city limits are a new Chick-fil-A location next door to the future home of Mavis Tire and Brakes, plus a new Jack’s and a forthcoming Ellianos.

Once completed, Mavis Tire and Brakes will join neighboring stores in Rome and the Metro Atlanta area. The services they provide along with tire and brakes include oil changes, alignments, suspension repair and much more.

The new shop is expected to be completed at a cost of around $1.8 million.
