Mosaic Place hosting listening session on August 30 in Rockmart

Polk County’s own local addiction recovery support center, Mosaic Place, is sponsoring an event for anyone concerned about building a recovery community here in Polk County.

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA’S) working definition of recovery, it is “a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential.”

The organization, alongside Highland Rivers Behavioral Health, will host a free listening session about recovery services in Polk County, and anyone is welcome to attend, including individuals seeking or in recovery at present, and not limited to family and friends, local treatment programs, government agencies, or employers.

The listening session will be on Tuesday, August 30 from 6 PM until 7:30 PM at the Nathan Dean Community Center in Rockmart.

A recovery community could consist of many things– all of them helpful. Every voice of concern on this issue matters when it comes to helping people help themselves. Anyone with any questions about the session should contact Lydia Goodson at lydiagoodson@highlandrivers.org.
