Emergency personnel sent a Cedartown man by airlift to an area hospital after a single vehicle wreck involving a motorcycle, according to Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome.

Additional information is expected in the morning, but Newsome said an adult male was injured and needed immediate airlift to an area hospital via Lifeflight, which was brought into Cedartown High School to land after emergency personnel were called to the intersection of Highway 278 and Highway 27 for aid.

No other vehicle or injuries were reported in the wreck, Newsome said at this time. Check back for additional information as the story develops.
