Plumbing work has been well underway where the new Dollar General is set to go in Cedartown, a replacement store for the one on South College Street.
City officials confirmed that the future home of a new Dollar General location got their building permit in April, and work has been ongoing to install plumbing, sewer lines and drainage under the future parking lot.

Expect the work to be completed before the end of the summer based on progress at previous locations within Polk County – weather permitting.
The store will be replacing the South College Street location in the near future, one of the three storefronts within the Penny Pinchers-anchored shopping center at the corner of South College Street and West Avenue.
Dollar General expansion in the Cedartown area also includes a new store (by now) nearing completion on Piedmont Highway at Cornelius Road, along with established locations including the Dollar General Market on North Main Street, a Highway 27 South location, and one at the intersection of Highway 278 and Lindsey Chapel Road.
