No injuries after PCPD officer involved in wreck

No injuries were reported by the Polk County Police Department after one of the department’s officers was involved in a wreck on Sunday, though the cruiser he was driving will be out of commission on repairs for some time.

Officer Jason Johnson was involved in a wreck on Sunday at Lee’s Chapel at Lovvorn Road, according to Chief Kenny Dodd.

According to Dodd, Johnson collided with another vehicle after he attempted to make a U turn at the intersection, and faced oncoming traffic at the time.

Much of the damage was done to the driver’s side front of the police vehicle.

Dodd said the cruiser was not totaled in the incident, and repairs will likely be forthcoming.
