A 911 call placed over the weekend was the reason a man ended up in custody and later released from jail on bond, according to Polk County Police reports.
Gary Lee Lackey, 64, of a Cedartown address, called 911 for the fifth time since July 2024 making false claims to operators when he dialed again on September 1.
He claimed to officers there were people on his property and they had run off into the woods before they arrived, but the officer knew that Lackey previously called with false information provided to 911.
Lackey was taken into custody on Sunday morning without further incident.
He was later released on a $500 bond.
