A big bet was the reason a Aragon-area man went bare on a walk down Highway 278 late in the evening this past Friday, according to Polk County Police reports.

Cody James Crocker, 34, of an Aragon-area address, was found by Polk County Police walking down Highway 278 eastbound near Springdale Road on Friday night, August 9, around 9:45 p.m. with nothing on but his birthday suit, but carrying a pair of shorts over his shoulder.

According to a statement Croker gave to the police included in the report, he told officers that “he was about to win a million dollars and that it was a bet that he made with someone.”

There was no indication in the report that Crocker was intoxicated on any substance during the incident.

He was taken into custody without further incident, and carried onward to the Polk County Jail for booking on charges of public indecency and pedestrian must walk on sidewalk/shoulder.

The report did not note if Crocker collected his winnings.

Crocker remained in custody as of this posting without bond set on the misdemeanor charges.
