PCPD: Two jailed after neighbors’ fight gets physical

An altercation between neighbors ended with two women being charged with misdemeanors after the incident got physical, per a Polk County Police Department report from Tuesday morning.

Officers arrested both Stephanie Marie Bise, 34, and Tabitha Michell Clay, 43, both of Rockmart addresses, on a misdemeanor charge apiece after the incident around 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Per the report, both women received a single charge of disorderly conduct when an altercation began about Clay and her boss’s work on a remodeling project happening across from Bise’s home. PCPD noted that Bise told officers that she was tired of their dogs coming into her yard to urinate on her kid’s toys, and that peeing on their kiddie pool was the latest time it happened that caused all of this to begin.

Bise went to confront Clay’s boss about the issue, and Clay got involved and was alleged to have struck Bise with a wooden footlong ruler. Video from a doorbell camera caught that part of the incident, but not another where Bise is alleged to have restarted the incident and thrown punches first.

Police asked for footage from the second incident, but Bise claimed the camera didn’t catch it because it “somehow came unplugged.”

Additional claims were made by another individual involved who told police they were struck in the eye, but there was no physical evidence to back it up.

PCPD jailed both Bise and Clay based on the statements made from themselves and others who witnessed the incident.

Bise and Clay were both released after being booked on a $500 bond for each.
