PCPD: Two jailed following domestic altercation in Cedartown late Wednesday

Polk County Police took two to jail late Wednesday night after they were involved in a domestic altercation, according to reports.

Franklin Ray Woods, 50, and Audrey Marie Henson, 40, both of the same Cedartown address, were arrested after both PCPD and the Cedartown Police were called out to respond to the altercation on Wednesday, Sept. 11, just before 11:30 p.m.

Woods claimed that Henson got upset after she texted an acquaintance over a $40 debt and “became irate with him because the female … “smarted off at her,” and he did not defend her,” per the report.

PCPD reported that Woods stated they got physical during the argument, and he believed “Henson to be using drugs while he is at work” to explain her behavior.

Henson did say the pair had been arguing earlier int he day, and Woods became angry after he was told to leave, and after name calling and being asked to leave again, grabbed Henson and choked her and “slammed her onto the bed,” per the report.

PCPD noted marks on both Woods and Henson, and decided to press charges against both of them in the incident.

They were taken to the Polk County Jail and booked into custody without further incident.

Woods was charged with felony aggravated assault and bond was denied. Henson was charged with misdemeanor battery and remains in jail with a $1,000 bond.
