PCPD: Woman jailed twice over weekend

A woman got two mugshots this weekend after being arrested on both Saturday and Sunday in less than 24 hours in separate incidents, according to Polk County Police reports.

Ana Maria Segura, 20, of a Cedartown-area address, was booked into custody on Saturday just after 3 p.m. when police determined nothing was wrong after she called 911 to make false claims to police.

Officers came out to investigate at her residence and found claims Segura made to be unjustified. Since she had made three calls to 911 making false claims over the past month, officers took her into custody and charged her with a misdemeanor for improper use of the 911 system.

Police then were called again – this time by a victim of an assault – when Segura is alleged to have been involved in a domestic altercation. Segura fled from her residence before they arrived to one across the street, and she was soon found and taken into custody.

The victim told officers she was attacked in bed and two people were needed to get Segura off of her during the incident.

The attack stemmed from internet access being denied for Segura during the middle of the night, the report noted.

Segura was taken into custody without further incident and charged with simple battery and simple assault under the family violence act.

Bond had not yet been set for her release on the misdemeanor charges as of this posting.
